Duality

I don’t know how others focus

On one thing at a time

My mind’s all over the place,

Ringing the chime.

I don’t know how others

Feel settled in life

The moment I find my balance,

I discover a new turn.

I don’t know how others

Decide on one thing,

After all

I am always greeted with duality.

I want this

And I want that

Problem is both are apart

At least in my head and my heart.

This has been a childhood pattern,

Me wanting both

In equal concussion,

All my life there were two options.

But I love both!

If I want beauty,

I want the brain too.

Without both, what will I do?

To my older self, they were opposites.

Today, I know they are one.

It’s the duality of life,

I have accepted and acknowledged.

Both were always one,

It was my illusion

That prevented me from,

Celebrating the whole spectrum.

Beautiful! The way you’ve untangled the duality, embraced it by fusing them together in such a simple way leaves the reader with a lot of warm feelings….almost a sense of undefinable acceptance. Brilliant.
